The owner is a real good man with great charisma!
An unbeatable location near the water!
And many many types of beer!
On the first visit, the owner offered my family a kayak did it for FREE.
I will gladly visit this atmosphere with my family again

Visited the lovely café-bar-museum on a beautiful day. Enjoyed a few of the house beers and watched lock-keeper Wim operate the hand-cranked bridge. Had a nice walk along the River Leie to see the old boats. The comical parrot will keep you amused too!

Perfect spot to have a drink during a bicycle trip or after hiking in the beautiful area. There's plenty of seating outside, inside it's rather small. Large selection of drinks, selection of paté to eat with bread. Good prices.

Fab place to stop for a drink and some cheese especially after a bike ride. Look out for Boris the cheeky bird who is happy to share your bread and cheese!!! Staff are great and friendly. Highly recommend a visit or two if you are in the area.

Nice little authentic café. As the name describes, this is a sas house and the owner also manually opens the bridge for boats passing through. He is a very funny guy and part of the charm.
